About Us
Hello & Welcome to Rottweiler Station

Thank you for taking the time to visit our little place on the web. Since I like to get to know our visitors and potential puppy owners I thought you might like to get to know me a little better as well.

I have been a long time Rottweiler Lover and I have been owned by this wonderful breed for as long as I can remember.  I got my first Rottweiler in 1991 she was a gift from my father.  My father Also was a Rottweiler Breeder and I was very much apart of his small breeding program.  My first Rottweiler Cody Bear quickly became my most loyal and loving friend.  I was already hooked on the breed due to having Rottweilers in our family but my Cody Bear sealed the deal and I knew there would never be any other breed for me. Cody was not only my friend but was my Therapy dog, I was in an accident in 1989 leaving me confined to a wheel chair.  Cody was always there for me and  having Cody to care for  helped me to become independent & giving me responsibility and direction in my life.  Cody was with me for 13 wonderful years.

I bred my first litter in 1999 14 beautiful puppies this was the hardest experience in my life it was also the most rewarding!!  Breeding the correct way is the most back breaking work you will ever do.  Why do I do it you ask? Because I love my breed and no matter how hard, or how expensive, and heartbreaking it is the joy I get in return is worth every second!!

In 2002 I started a new career I graduated and became a dog trainer however, I hardly consider this a job  I love my work.  I have successfully trained 3 of my own Rottweilers as Service Dogs.  Two of these wonderful boys are now retired.  Gus is my current Service Dog and you wont find a better partner and friend anywhere!  I have also helped others in training their Service Dogs and it is my hope to one day open my own Service Dog training facility.

I started showing my Rottweilers in AKC obedience trials in October 2002  I have earned the American Kennel Clubs Canine Good Citizen Award on 8  of my Rottweilers to date and have titled 3 of my Rotties so far in AKC Obedience.  I am not sure who is more addicted to the dog shows me or my Rotties :-)  We show for fun and are having a blast doing it.  I hope to be showing in conformation next year.

In 2003 I was alarmed to see just how many Rottweilers were turned into animal shelters by irresponsible owners.  So I began doing Rottweiler rescue.  I have found many wonderful and loving Rottweilers new and forever families.  I feel if you choose to be a breeder you should give something back.  I am an advocate for the under dog and beyond anything else I always have the dogs best interest in mind. If that be with my own Rottweilers,  my puppies, my rescues, or the dogs I am training.

My goal as a breeder has never changed I strive to produce Rottweilers who are correct in conformation; who have sound and stable temperament with the ability & drive to be outstanding working dogs, conformation competitors, therapy dogs, service dogs, and superb family companions.

There have been many changes in my breeding program over the years and are sure to be more in my quest to better my breed and my breeding program.  There is one thing that will never change and that is the love I have for my dogs.  I do not consider myself a kennel and there isn't anything fancy about Rottweiler Station except for the way I care for my dogs and the relationship I have with my clients.  I am not the type of breeder who will hand you a puppy and say good luck.  It is my hope to build a long and lasting friendship with each family who adds one of my puppies to their home.  If that is not the type of breeder you have been searching for I am afraid I can't help you.  I only choose the best possible homes for my puppies.  Homes that will be responsible dog owners and promote the Rottweiler in a positive light as well as making their Rottweiler a part of their family not an object. My puppies are always welcome to come back home for any reason or no reason at all!!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and I very much look forward to talking with you.

Warmest Rottie Regards
Amy Hopper.
